Oak Ridge Police Department SWAT Unit Arrests Suspect In Connection With Firearms Theft

The Oak Ridge Police Department said officers had engaged in "special enforcement activity" on East Maiden Lane Tuesday night.

Pictures posted by the department to social media showed police vehicles on what appeared to be a residential street.

Police said on Twitter the neighborhood was safe during the activity.

On Tuesday night, ORPD said the department's SWAT team executed a search warrant at home on East Maiden Lane. Officers were looking for a suspect who was wanted in connection with a burglary and theft of firearms.

Police said Markell Prather, 35, was successfully taken into custody without incident.

Prather was also wanted in Knox County for failure to appear in court.
