TBI Identifies Man Connected To Officer-Involved Shooting Sunday

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation identified a man they said is connected to an officer-involved shooting in Sevier County Sunday.

TBI agents said 41-year-old Timothy McGill remains hospitalized after deputies shot him Kodak.

Investigators said McGill's wife called the Sevier County Sheriff's Office to her home on Joyce Way and told deputies he was threatening to harm himself.

When deputies arrived on scene, a confrontation ensued, which led to deputies firing and hitting McGill. He was then transferred to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. No deputies were injured.

TBI is investigating the circumstances around the shooting and reported that McGill was still in the hospital as of 2:30 p.m. on Sunday evening.
