The FBI said they were responding to
assist local authorities with an Alcoa bank robbery Wednesday.
Officials said the robbery happened a Capitol Bank, located at 325 Joule
Street in Alcoa.
Dispatch said the call for the robbery came in at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday.
The FBI said the robber entered the bank and passed a note to the teller
demanding money, and the teller complied. The teller put the money in a
brown bag the suspect brought with him. The robber then fled the bank.
On Wednesday night, the Alcoa Police Department and the FBI asked for
the public's assistance in identifying the subject of surveillance
photographs. Police said the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash
from the bank.
The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall and
wearing dark clothing.
