Today Is Election Day Across Nation, Knox County: Five New Council Seats Up For Grab In Local Elections
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville's City Council will be filled with five new council members after Tuesday's vote. Those five nonpartisan seats are currently held by members who are term-limited and therefore cannot run for re-election. Candidates are running for open seats in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th districts. The council is made up of nine seats, which means most of the seats will be held by first-time members. If you're wondering where or how to vote, don't worry! Find your voting location based on where you live using the online search tool. Polls open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7.
