CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) - No students
were hurt after a Clarksville school bus caught fire Thursday morning.
Authorities said bus 01-104 was picking up Montgomery Central Middle and
High School students when it caught fire.
Officials told WTVF bus driver Brittany Sigears immediately took action
and started evacuating the bus. None of the 20 students on board were
hurt.
“We take pride in the safety training and protocols we have in place and
commend Ms. Sigears for her conscientiousness in protecting our
students,” Schools Director Millard House II told WTVF.
The students were transferred to another bus and taken to their schools.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol and CMCSS Transportation staff were
investigating the cause. WTVF reports the bus was a total loss. |
