Knoxville Man Bites Woman In Face, Threatens To Kill Her With Sword

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (SOURCE: WVLT)-- A verbal argument turned violent when Knoxville police said a man bit a woman in the face and threatened to kill her with a sword Friday.

Police reports showed Daniel Wiggers struck the woman several times in the face and in the head with his fist, elbowed her in the side and scratched her on the back.

Officers reported Wiggers also raped the woman in their home.

Wiggers reportedly restricted the victim's freedom by not allowing her to leave the apartment and used his threats and assaults to keep her from calling 911 for help.

Investigators said Wiggers admitted to repeatedly assaulting the woman and threatening to kill her but claims the sex was consensual.

Wiggers is charged with aggravated domestic assault and aggravated kidnapping.
