Knoxville Police Arrest Man Accused Of Beating Up Mom, Threatening To Kill Two Others

Knoxville Police arrested a man accused of beating up his mom inside her home and threatening to kill two other women inside when his mom refused to let him bring his friends inside her apartment.

Investigators said the altercation happened Friday in the 200 block of Cansler Avenue.

According to police records, Dominick Ratliff shoved his mom, Holly Ratliff, into her apartment and grabbed her by the hair, which caused her to faint.

Witnesses allege Ratliff punched his mom in the back of the head multiple times before grabbing her by the neck and choking her, while yelling he was going to kill her.

Authorities said multiple victims tried to stop the violence.

Police records said when one of the women inside tried to intervene,
Ratliff punched her in the right side of the face and slapped another woman in the face when she attempted to stop the attack.

Investigators said Ratliff then went to the kitchen and grabbed a steak knife, walked out and told all the victims he was going to kill them. Police records said he also is accused of threatening to cut the baby from a pregnant woman's stomach.

After Ratliff threw the knife down, police were told he left in a black truck with two other passengers, leaving behind the women with several injuries.

One officer said he observed a large amount of swelling on Ratliff's mother's head and bruising on one of the other victim's eye and face.

Police said Ratliff faces one count of attempted second degree murder, three counts of domestic aggravated assault and two counts of possession of meth with intent to deliver and sell.
