Dandridge Police Officer Seriously Injured In Car Accident Late Friday

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. (SOURCE: WVLT) - The Dandridge Police Department asked for the public to pray for a Jefferson City police officer, who was involved in a serious car accident late Friday night.

In a post to its Facebook page, the department said its thoughts are with Sgt. Scott Winstead, his family and the Jefferson City Police Department Saturday.

The post said Sgt Winstead was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident when his patrol car was struck by a speeding vehicle. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the crash happened at the intersection of Branner Avenue and East King.

DPD said Sgt Winstead was flown by Lifestar to UT Medical Center for surgery
