KNOXVILLE - (SOURCE:
WVLT) - Broken glass lined the streets of Old North Knoxville, in the
latest in a string of vandalism.
About a dozen cars were damaged there Thursday night.
This comes after police were already investigating more than 20 reports
of broken car windows in South Knoxville earlier this week.
Officials have not yet said whether the cases are connected.
Neighbors said nothing was stolen from the cars, but one owner got an
estimate of more than $200 for repairs.
They guess the total damages will add up to about $2,000 across the
neighborhood.
Nicholas Ferruso, whose car was vandalized, said, "I noticed my
fiancee's window was smashed and there's glass everywhere. My first
impression was someone broke into her car, and then I walked up, noticed
there wasn't really anything stolen. I looked down and it was just every
car, every car had piles of glass beside them."
Another neighbor said he's never seen anything like this.
Officials said they have a couple good leads in the South Knoxville
case, but still ask anyone with information to give them a call at
865-215-7212. |
