- The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a stabbing death that
happened on Delaware Avenue late Tuesday evening.
Tuesday at 11:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing at
1324 Delaware Avenue.
Investigators said a male suspect broke into the victim's home armed
with a knife and demanded drugs. According to the preliminary report,
the resident was stabbed after he told the suspect he didn't have any
drugs.
The suspect then allegedly pointed the knife at a female in the home.
She said she would tell him where the drugs were located if he left her
father alone.
Authorities said the suspect ran from the home when he failed to find
any drugs. He was apprehended by officers as he was trying to leave the
scene.
The victim was taken to UT Medical Center, where he later died from his
wounds. The female was not hurt, according to police.
Investigators identified the suspect Wednesday morning as Kevin Scarbro.
He was charged with one count of first degree murder and is being held
in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a $1 million bond. |
