Car Stolen At University Commons Way Near UT Campus Tuesday

KNOXVILLE (SOURCE: WVLT) - On Tuesday at around 4:57 p.m., Knoxville Police Department officers responded to University Commons Way, where a vehicle theft had been reported.

The female victim told officers she had parked her 2014 Honda Civic in the parking garage when she was approached by a black male. The victim reported the suspect did not have a weapon, but that the suspect got into her vehicle and backed out of the parking space.

The open driver side door of the vehicle reportedly knocked the victim down to the pavement.

The suspect was described as a tall black male wearing a blue shirt and tan pants.

The victim was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment of a very minor head injury.

KPD said the suspect fled the scene in the victim's vehicle. No word Wednesday on status of investigation.
