As Hurricane Maria unleashed her wrath Monday, Rob Storey said his niece
was in Dominica, bracing for the worst and typing out her fears on
Snapchat. "She
said that she was lying on the bathroom floor and that she was scared to
death," said Storey.
Storey's niece, Logan Frazier, is on the island in medical school at
Ross University. She's caught in the mix of ruin and despair.
"You fear the worst," said Storey. "Automatically, your mind just goes
places that's crazy," he added.
Amid Maria's punishment to the Caribbean, loved ones said the university
held an emergency roll call Tuesday afternoon to account for all of its
staff and students.
For reasons unknown, the Maryville native wasn't in the number.
"She lives just next door to the school, and so we were afraid, you
know, why couldn't she get there," said Storey. "She would've absolutely
been there if something wasn't wrong," he added.
"We were just hoping that she was okay and praying, and luckily we have
a lot of family and friends that believe in God," said Harley Hill,
Fraizer's sister.
Prayers for Frazier were finally answered early Wednesday morning.
"The Florida campus called and said she was finally able to get to roll
call," said Storey.
Storey said he reached out to Frazier through Snapchat again, eager to
write that he got word she's safe.
Although he hasn't received a response, Storey and his family know in
their hearts their love will guide Frazier to safety.
"We love each other all very dearly," said Hill. |
