Police Seeking Help To Find Driver Of Hit-Run Accident On Chapman Highway That Hit, Killed 13-Month Old Child Wednesday

SEYMOUR, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash off Chapman Highway in Sevier County.

Investigators said a 13-month-old child was hit and killed by what is believed to be a 2005-2008, red Pontiac Vibe, four-door that was traveling north on Highway 441, Chapman Highway.

An employee at Cota's Comfort Heating and Cooling said the toddler was the child of another employee at the store.

The Sevier County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to reports of a child hit at 10:05 a.m. by a car traveling northbound near the area of 12806 Chapman Highway.

The child was taken to UT Medical Center.

The suspect is believed to be driving a Red Pontiac Vibe 4-door.
