Oak Ridge Man Admits To Beating, Killing Neighbors Dog, Setting His House On Fire

A father believes his son entered his home, beat and killed his dog, damaged the television and set fire on the living room floor, according to the Oak Ridge Police Department.

Police said the killing and destruction happened Friday around 5:39 a.m. at the home of 19-year-old Skyler Griffin's dad, in the 200 block of Villanova Road.

When officers arrived to the residence, they found Griffin inside and took him to the police department for questioning.

Investigators said Griffin admitted he walked to and entered his father’s residence, beat and stabbed his father’s dog to death and set fire to items on the living room floor before walking back to his own residence.

Griffin was arrested and charged with aggravated arson, aggravated cruelty to animals and vandalism.

Griffin was taken to the Anderson County Detention Facility in Clinton and is being held on a $86,000 bond.
