A WEATHER ALERT is in effect now through
Tuesday morning, as we deal with waves of rain and gusty winds from
Tropical Storm Irma. Wind speeds are increasing this evening with gusts
between 30 and 50 miles per hour and with the highest speeds in the
higher elevations. Some trees and limbs could come down, so a few power
outages may occur. A Wind Advisory includes all of East Tennessee until

...Windy Conditions will develop across East Tennessee, southwest North
Carolina, and southwest Virginia today... .The remnants of Hurricane
Irma are expected to move NW across Alabama and Georgia...with windy
conditions developing this afternoon and continuing into Tuesday
morning. North to northeasterly winds will be 15 to 30 mph with gusts up
to 50 mph possible in the Tennessee Valley. In addition, wind gusts of
over 50 mph will be possible in the highest peaks of the southern

difficult.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 26 to 39 mph and/or gusts of 40 to
57 mph are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving
difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
