A man told police he took pictures of a
female student in the bathroom of a university of Tennessee dorm and the
victim said he got in because of a broken lock.
Howard Sterling Hensley, who is also a 2015 UT graduate, admitted to
using an iPhone to take pictures of the victim at Hess Hall, according
to police reports.
One student said even though there's a separation between male and
female living areas, there's been a man in a Hess Hall bathroom before.
"While girls were taking showers, a guy walked through the showers,"
Isabelle Pinzon said. "So that was always kind of an issue."
Another student said she's tired of seeing people in areas they're not
supposed to be in. "It frustrates me when men and other people, they're
not supposed to be on that side or over there," Elsie Crisp said."
The university said there are policies in place to prevent similar
situations. Those include:
-each student has a key card that only lets them into specific areas
-entrances are staffed 24 hours per day
-when someone moves or graduates, key cards is wiped clean
