David Duke
Attacks Both President Trump, Gov. Terry McAuliffe Over Charlottesville
Response
Alt-right white nationalist David Duke
attacked both President Trump and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe after
white nationalists turned violent at a Virginia rally Saturday.
KKK members and alt-right activists conglomerated and eventually rioted
against counter-protesters and police at the University of Virginia in
Charlottesville, VA Saturday morning. The "Unite the Right" rally was to
protest the removal of a statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee in the city.
Gov. McAuliffe declared a state of emergency after violence broke out.
Former Louisiana congressman Duke attacked McAuliffe, saying the
governor "used his authority to shut down our free speech because of his
personal opinions."
Duke called
the white nationalists' opponents "scum" and went on to accuse the
Virginia police of treating them unfairly.
