A multiple vehicle crash stopped traffic
on I-40 westbound Thursday morning, according to the Tennessee
Department of Transportation.
Mark Nagi, TDOT spokesperson, tweeted that there were two wrecks on I-40
West in Cumberland County at mile marker 325 and 328 involving multiple
tractor trailers.
The left lane on the westbound side of travel was closed. Eastbound
traffic was not seeing any delays.
At 8:44 a.m., officials tweeted that one lane was reopened to westbound
traffic on I-40 in Cumberland County with traffic backing before MM 328.
The first crash was reported shortly before 4:30 a.m. Eastern time. A
few hours later, cccording to the department, another crash was
reported. Both scenes are estimated to be cleared by 10:00 a.m.
