Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) Applauds Leaks Against President Trump On "The View"

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) appeared on "The View" on Friday and applauded the leaks that are coming out of the White House.

Co-host Paula Faris asked Waters if she was disturbed that President Trump’s conversations with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull were "illegally leaked" to the Washington Post.

"No, not at all," Waters said. "I am so glad they're telling us what's going on."

When Faris pointed out that Trump's conversations with world leaders are "confidential," Waters insisted, "I need to hear these conversations."

“Unfortunately, this is his problem,” Waters continued. “He is in a White House where he’s got people working for him that don’t believe in him, don’t like what he’s doing, and they’re trying to tell the American public something.”

Co-host Jedediah Bila suggested these leaks could set a dangerous precedent for future presidents, pointing out that a lack of trust could hurt relationships with world leaders.

Waters said these type of leaks wouldn't occur in any other administration because “leadership starts at the top.”

“It's this president that some people have no confidence in,” Waters said. "They're undermining him because they want to see him stopped. They want us to do something. Not every president would be treated this way. This man has no values. He lies. They know it. And he's the danger. And they want us to do something about it."
