10-Year Old Falls To Her Death At Fall Creek Falls State Park
A 10-year-old girl fell from a cliff at Fall Creek Falls State Park and died, according to an official from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Officials said Grace Goodwin died in the accident Wednesday night. A witness reported watching the girl lose her footing and fall from an area near the main trail. An official from TDEC said he did not know where Goodwin or her family were from, and he was unaware of any storms that would have caused the area to become more dangerous. TDEC officials said, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this most difficult time." TDEC also said that other hikers and visitors should follow signs at all time and keep on the main trail in order to stay safe.
