Nashville Man Arrested In Deadly Hatchet Attack in Kentucky |
|
Metro Nashville Police announced Tuesday
night that a suspect wanted in connection to a deadly attack Monday
involving a hatchet has been captured. Officers said Domenic Micheli, 36, was captured in Kentucky, adding no other details about where or how he was found. The attack happened outside of Balance Fitness in the Belle Meade area Monday, News Channel 5 reports. They said Micheli "savagely" killed his former employer, 46-year-old Joel Paavola, by hitting him multiple times with the hatchet and another blade in a "senseless, brutal attack." Micheli then allegedly ran out of weapons and driving off in an older model silver Toyota, possibly a Pruis or a Yaris. Micheli reportedly worked for Paavola at Balance Fitness until he was fired about 14 months ago. A gofundme account set up for Paavola, who leaves behind a wife and five children, has already raised more than $50,000 as of Monday night. Anyone with information regarding the attack or whereabouts of Micheli has been urged to call 615-862-8600. |
