Woman Arrested, Charged In Fatal Hit And Run Accident Sunday On Gay Street Bridge

KNOXVILLE - A woman is charged with leaving the scene of a hit-and-run on the Gay Street Bridge at 2:54 a.m. on Sunday.

The police said a man and woman had gotten off of their motorcycle on the side of the roadway and were then struck by a vehicle they believe was driven by Emily Williams. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to UT Medical Center in serious condition.

Police said Williams left the scene and continued southbound on Gay Street. At around 2:20 p.m., KPD reported they had located the suspect.
