Jesse Watters Blasts Hypocrisy On Left Of Trump Attacks For President's Reaction In Charlottesville
Watters said that Trump is not the villain in the situation, but that 20-year-old suspect James Alex Fields Jr. is.
"If Trump had named names, would the media not have created a firestorm?" he asked. "Would his enemies still hate him?"
Trump was criticized for not being specific in his initial response to the violence.
"[It] just opened up the door for people to unfairly smear him as a racist," Watters said.
He said there could be a lot more facts to be found about the incident near a Robert E. Lee statue slated to be removed.
"Who knows if the mayor told [police] to stand down," Watters said. "Even the ACLU said they stood by and watched."
Watters said both sides came to the Southside Virginia community "armed to the teeth" but the press and the left want to blame Trump.
"There's a lot of hypocrisy going on here," he said.
Watters noted that Obama labeled the terrorist shooting at Fort Hood "workplace violence," and that Hillary Clinton waited several days to call Benghazi terrorism.
He said Obama waited four days after Ferguson before blaming rioters of both factions, and how a Bernie Sanders volunteer targeted and nearly killed Republican congressmen earlier this year.
