Cancer Survivor Thanks President Trump For $10K Donation

You might remember the story of Shane Bouvet, a Trump campaign volunteer who was surprised by President Trump with front row seats to an Inauguration eve concert and a check for $10,000 for his father's cancer treatments.

Bouvet received a call prior to the Inauguration from a Trump staffer saying Trump had read an article about him and wanted to meet him.

While at the concert, Bouvet was escorted by a Secret Service agent to meet the president. He called his father, and Trump got on the phone to speak with him.

A little more than one year later, Shane and his now-cancer-free father, Don Bouvet, joined Trump at the White House, where Don told the president, “Thank you for saving my life.”

The father and son appeared on "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday to speak about receiving the unexpected donation from the president and visiting the White House.

"I remember coming home and saying, 'Dad, we have the money. We have the money to get you treatments.' I'm forever grateful," Shane said on "Fox & Friends."

Don said when Shane handed him the check it was "unbelievable."

"Not too many 25-year-olds would do something like that," he said. "And I just can't thank him enough, or President Trump."

He said it was a "dream come true" to visit the president at the White House and thank him in person.

During the White House visit, Shane received another surprise from Trump -- a check for $5,000 -- which he also has special plans for.

"I'm going to give that to my father for everything he's done for me in my life."

Trump then wrote Bouvet a check for $10,000 for his father's chemotherapy treatments.
