A Sweetwater woman has been sentenced to two years in jail after faking cancer and scamming people out of money.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Ashley Lively brought in more than $8,000 through local community groups. The groups gave her donations after she lied about needing cancer treatment. She even created a Facebook page asking for help.
