Fatal Hit and Run Crash Kills Motorcyclist In Sevierville Late Wednesday Night

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, at around 11:47 p.m. Wednesday, The driver of a 2008 Dogs SQ2 crossed the line on US Highway 25W and hit mirrors with another driver before hitting a motorcycle driver in the rear.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old Justin Burdette had been drinking and was not wearing a seat belt when he hit 34-year-old Robert Galyon's Yamaha motorcycle. Galyon was ejected from the motorcycle after leaving the roadway. Galyon was then ran over by Burdette's vehicle.

According to the THP report, Burdette continued driving and fled the scene as debris from his vehicle hit another vehicle. Another driver also ran over Galyon's body in the roadway.

THP said Galyon's next of kin had been notified. No citations were issued and THP said the District Attorney would advise on what charges would be filed, if any.
